World Champion Ganna wins prelude

The Italian Ganna won on Monday on the 13.9-kilometer long course in the seaside resort Lido di Camaiore with eleven seconds ahead of the Belgian Remco Evenepoel. The German climbing specialist Emanuel Buchmann, who continues his preparation for the Giro d'Italia in May, was not playing a role and occupied residue 109 with 1:32 minutes. The so-called race between the seas over seven stages becomes very demanding especially in the second half. However, there is no real mountain arrival this year. The final stage takes place on Sunday around San Benedetto del Tronto on the Italian East Coast.
